The city of Carmel is located just north of Indianapolis along US 31. Carmel is characterized as an affluent suburb of Indianapolis noted for its many roundabouts. 
Carmel’s population has doubled in the last decade to nearly 70,000, and Carmel has seen tremendous housing and economic growth as well. With affluent homeowners and prestigious neighborhoods, it is no wonder Carmel has been the premier destination for new industrial development.
Carmel is home to the Monon Trail as well as other numerous parks and green areas. The Carmel Monon Center is home to an aqua park and numerous water activities as well as a state of the art fitness center. The Carmel Symphony also performs throughout the year.
Carmel is served by the Carmel Clay Schools with ten elementary schools, three middle schools and one high school, which serves more than 14,000 students. There are also a number of parochial and private schools in the area.
