The Indiana Association of Realtors states that November home resales in Indiana increased 36.5% from the same month last year.

The report also states that median prices for resales also rose 10.5%.

“The numbers that we have seen from November, as well as October, are welcomed news as we approach the end of the year,” said Karl Berron, Chief Executive Officer of the Indiana Association of Realtors, in a statement in the Indianapolis Star.

He said it’s proof that homes in our state are affordable and that, while the recent jump in numbers can be linked to the impact of the $8,000 first-time homebuyer tax credit, “it’s important to recognize that Indiana’s housing markets are continuing to make a turnaround after a very tough year.”

The same report shows that Johnson County was up 64.8% from the same month last year, and Marion County was up 20.2%.
